Soul Collector

Book One

This is a romantasy novel that I wrote about 5 years ago that I am currently in the process of editing, rewriting and extending to be a complete novel instead of a duology.

This will be the first book in a series of interconnected stories with one over arcing plot.

Although much of the book will remain the same there will be changes to the story and a few character's personalities that I think need a little work.

Since this was the third book I ever wrote it definitely needs some work and polish, and now that I've been writing for a few years and now have eight more books published since this one, I feel my writing ability has greatly improved and I've learned much since originally writing this story. I still love the concept and world and have always thought about returning to it but hadn't felt the inspiration until now. I am very excited to be returning to the fantasy genre and expanding on this world and making it better.

I hope to re-release with a new cover later in 2026 or early 2027. For the most updates and info on this and my other works consider becoming a patron on patreon, that is where I post most frequently about everything.

Tropes: slow burn, forced proximity, reluctant companions to lovers, soulmates,

BLURB:

Being born with the rarest hair color in the land is not the prestige you would expect it to be. Every female born with red hair is cursed. Cursed to do Alamir’s bidding and collect the souls of the dying. Some see it as a gift, others not so much. Distrust and misconception abound. I’ve made my peace with my purpose, the life of loneliness and duty. But when a soul speaks to me from beyond his body, from within the freckle which he resides on my skin as I carry him to the waters of the River of Souls, my world is put into question. A soul has never spoken before, why is this one so special? Is it the way he worries for me? The way he learns and understands me? Perhaps it’s because we can feel each others emotions, and not all of them are bad?

It takes the will of not one but two gods to put right what was done. A trick crafted by a being even more unknown than myself, a soul dealer. My soul magic is changing, the call of the souls more demanding. Things aren’t right in the world and the one person that might be it’s source may also be the only person to undo its damage. With the magic of a spellcaster, the knowledge of a Sage, and the wits of a Wanderer, we might just be able to set things right. If not the world may never be the same again.
